I’m sure you’ve heard this phrase a million times, “The money is in the list.” But what if you’ve built a fairly large list and you still can’t seem to pull much of a profit out of it? Or if you’re just getting started and are afraid that’s what will happen? Well you can use these 6 ideas to make more money from the list you have, and make sure every new subscriber is making you money.

Publishing Old News Isn’t Profitable

One of the ways that you can monetize the list is keep up on the news of your niche market. What I mean by that is subscribe to a lot of different things so that you’re on the front edge on things that are happening in your niche market.  That way you can let people know of breaking news fast before the rest of the people. 

Contact Your List Regularly – Whenever You Have Something To Say

Don’t worry too much about sticking to a strict publishing schedule.  I believe that you should be able to write to your readers anytime you have something to say, especially if it’s some kind of breaking news situation where you’re getting that fresh information to people. They may have a jump on a certain situation that would either be something they can profit from. It could also be some kind of warning against a bad situation or an opportunity that comes their way, and if you’re the kind of person who hears about things soon and can help your followers, your subscribers, your customers take advantage of things, they will love you for that. 

Give Out Valuable Freebies That Will Truly Help Them

Always be on the hunt for good freebies.  That helps solidify relationships, little gifts.  And what you don’t want to do is just give away junk.  Actually look for stuff that is very useful, is of high quality and stuff you would have no qualms about actually putting a price tag on.  In other words, something that is truly valuable that delivers real results.  If you’re going to write articles and blog posts always go for excellence in everything that you do. 

Write Or Distribute Articles To Establish Authority & Trust

Another way to monetize your list is write articles that you publish out, whether it’s a print magazine or online magazines or article directories.  You can use those in your newsletter, the ones that you write.  The other thing you can do is get articles that other people write.  You always want to make sure that you give credit to whoever writes it because it was their work, but you can write an intro to it and you can write a summary after it. 

By doing so, that actually positions you as an expert because you’re smart enough to pick a really good article to share with your readers or the visitors to your website or blog.  So if you’re going to use somebody else’s article, I would suggest that you write a little introductory paragraph about the topic and set it up and then introduce the author and the article and then come back around and do a summary of it and then take the summary and push that into the next action step.  So that’s how you can use other people’s content within your publications or on your blog.  Still give them credit but it’s like you positioned yourself just a little bit up the ladder from even the author of the article. 

Make Resource RecommendationS To Make More Money From Your List

The other thing that you should be doing to help monetize your list is make resource recommendations.  Now some of those things are going to be freebies that you’ll find.  Other ones are going to be products of yours and then other ones still are going to be products/services of other people who you’re affiliated with and make commissions off of those sales.  So be sure that you’re mixing it up with resource recommendations and review things and you should really get your hands on things and work them and find out what the strengths are or if there are any weaknesses, you should put that out too.  A real honest opinion on how something works goes a long way to build that trust and credibility with your folks. 

Make Special Deals With JV Partners To Offer To Your List

If you come across special deals or if you can make special deals, you would want to do that too.  When you do joint ventures with people, try to get some kind of a special pricing or some kind of special bonuses on top of that, so the offer that you make to your list of buyers is something unique in the marketplace but not everybody has. 

If you’re just doing regular affiliate marketing, that’s not going to happen.  You’re just sending the traffic over to somebody’s website and you’re hoping that sales communication converts. But if you’re actually doing joint ventures, this is where you can make it unique in the marketplace by maybe getting some kind of special deal and some other kind of bonuses thrown in on top. This will help you make more sales, and also not to lose sales to others.
